Dwight Eisenhower ~ October 14, 1890 - March 28, 1969

34th President 1953 - 1961 Dwight Eisenhower sites visited: Eisenhower's library, museum, boyhood home, and gravesite are all found together in Abilene, Kansas. His boyhood home where Ike lived from 1898-1911 offers tours. The museum was undergoing renovation so only a small display was available. The Eisenhower tree The Eisenhower graves are found in the Meditation Chapel. Ike has a statue in the middle of the grounds. This car was built for President Truman but is most associated with Eisenhower who used the vehicle from 1952-1960. The car can be seen at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. This plane was Eisenhower's personal airplane from 1954-1961. It is currently located in the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. In June of 2019 we were in Gettysburg and took a tour of the Eisenhower Farm. Ike purchased the farm in 1950, and he and Mamie retired there.
