The day we were there, there was a temporary exhibit which was full of fascinating artifacts and documents.
George and Barbara had a little farewell speech for us when we left.
If you visit the gift shop, be aware that you cannot get back into the museum unless you walk outside and go back around through the entrance again. This is a true "Exit Through the Gift Shop."

25th President 1897-1901 William McKinley sites visited: McKinley was assassinated in Buffalo, New York, and this marker is located on the spot where it happened (Fordham Drive). He lay in state in what is now the Old County Hall at 92 Franklin Street. Teddy Roosevelt, who was sworn in as President in Buffalo, also has a marker in the old county hall. This museum is definitely worth a visit. They have the assassination revolver, surgical tools, and the ball and chain that were worn by the assassin, Leon Czolgosz. This is a photo of the room in which Teddy Roosevelt took the oath of office. The 96 foot tall McKinley Monument was erected in 1907 and stands in Niagara Square in front of City Hall. On the day of our visit it was being cleaned 😏 On a trip through Canton, Ohio, we visited both his museum and his tomb. Gerald R. Ford ~ July 14, 1913 - December 26, 2006

38th President 1974 - 1977 Gerald R. Ford sites visited: The house no longer stands but Ford's birth site was made into a beautiful park. 3202 Woolworth Ave, Omaha Nebraska 630 Rosewood, Grand Rapids MI Ford lived here from 1922-1923 but the historic sign at his next boyhood home ignores this site. 649 Union, Grand Rapids MI (sign says 1921-1930) 330 Washington, Grand Rapids MI Ford lived here with his wife, Betty, from 1948-1950. Born Leslie Lynch King, Jr., Ford was called Gerald R. Ford Jr. after his mother's re-marriage to Gerald R. Ford, Sr in 1917. Ford was never formally adopted by his step-father and he didn't legally change his name until 1935. Ford is the only Eagle Scout to have become President. He is also the only president to date to have his library and museum in two different places. Ann Arbor, Michigan, has his library with a small first floor exhibit open to the public. Herbert Hoover ~ August 10, 1874 - October 20, 1964

31st President 1929 - 1933 Herbert Hoover sites visited: West Branch, Iowa is the place to go for Hoover historic sites. Here we found his birth home, museum, and gravesite. Hoover's museum is quite fascinating, given his long career in government. Hoover was the first president to have a phone installed on the presidential desk. A letter in the museum regarding Al Capone. He lost his re-election bid, in the simplest terms, due to the stock market crash and his belief that the resultant Great Depression was not a federal problem. A couple of interesting telegrams. The gravesite is a short walk away and is situated in a park-like setting. There are other out-buildings on the property but none that can confirm Hoover actually set foot in them. The Isis statue is a genuine article, however, and was presented to Hoover by Belgium in gratefulness for his famine relief efforts on Belgium's behalf during World War I.
